• An entrepreneurial career that has seen him
commence, operate and eventually sell companies in
automotive parts and recycling technology.
• A member of several Boards of Directors including:
automotive parts, telematics, private equity,
construction equipment, hospital, emerging hybrid
and electric vehicles, polices services, and pension
plans organizations.

Executive and Management Experience
• Shred-Tech Limited. CEO and Owner. Started the Company in 1977 and grew it to
become a world leader in recycling Technology, and developed the mobile document
shredder – and the beginning of an industry in North America. Sold the Company
to a NYSE Company in 1995.
• Polymer Technologies Inc. CEO and Owner. Purchased the Company in 1996 and
grew from a $9 million plastics Company to $125 million tier two Auto parts
manufacturer with 7 plants in four countries and over 1,000 employees.
Recognized as one of Canada’s 50 best managed Companies for four years. Sold to
two private Equity Companies in 1995.
• ATS Automation Tooling Systems. In 2007 led a successful proxy fight that
replaced the board and senior Management. Served as CEO while recruiting a new
senior management team. The Company has 24 global manufacturing facilities,
4,000 employees and $900 million in Sales.

Board of Directors and Advisory Experience
• Chairman, BSM Wireless Incorporated, a TSE listed venture Company providing
GPS/cellular enterprise management capabilities for trucking fleets in North
America and Globally
• Board Member and Audit Chair, Newport Partners Income Fund, a $700 million TSE
listed Investment Company with 18 operating partners in manufacturing,
remediation and financial services.
• Board Member, ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc., A $900 million global
designer and manufacturer of Automation for healthcare, solar and automotive
industries.
• Chairman, Cambridge Memorial Hospital, a community Hospital with $100 million
budget and 1200 employees.
• Chairman, Crosschasm Technologies Inc., a University of Waterloo ‘spin-off’
Company developing processes and technology for hybrid and electric vehicles.
• Board Member, Royal Canadian Mint, a $2.1B for profit Crown Corporation
• Chairman, Waterloo Regional Police Commission, $100 million budget and 1,000
employees
• Chairman, Canada’s Community Triangle Accelerator Network
• Co Chair, Region of Waterloo Prosperity Council
• Board Member, Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan, $18 Billion of Pension Assets
• Other – Member and executive of various other private Company and not for
profit boards
