Executive and Management Experience


• Led the transition to professional management of a $10 million Calgary based premium coffee manufacturer as President and CEO and as President and CEO of an importer of specialty coffee and beverage equipment.

• Increased the leadership and wealth building capability of a group of 15 CEOs as chair of a business think tank and advisory group for The Executive Committee, an international organization of CEOs. Also aided the growth of The Executive Committee Ltd. in fifteen Canadian cities.

• Developed a strategic board governance and management consulting practice of which I remain a part-time advisor (The Executive Advisor).

• Developed an innovative award winning marketing team as CEO of the Calgary Convention and Visitors Bureau.

• Over the past 25 years developed a large Canadian property investment business with my brother and three sisters. This group is now cashing out after a successful wealth building run.


Board of Directors and Advisory Experience


• Completed an outstanding record in public service in the Government of Saskatchewan: Treasury Board analyst, Assistant Deputy Minister of Human Resources, Deputy Minister of Social Services, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, President of the Saskatchewan Economic Diversification Corporation, and President of The Saskatchewan Family Foundation.

• Over the past 10 years developed an investor group that has raised capital with equity positions in Canadian and U.S. manufacturing operations; served on company boards; added financial value; and created wealth. The group continues with an exemplary performance record.

• Chair of the board of Trinitel International (electronics manufacturer); M-5 Holdings Ltd.; the Canadian Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus; the Holy Rosary Cathedral parish council (Regina) and of St. Anthony’s Latin Mass Committee (Calgary).

• Trustee of Grand Mesa Trust (pipeline construction).

• Board member of ERIC Technologies Inc. (medical devices); the University of Calgary Management School Advisory Council; the International Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus; the Regina Symphony Board, the Calgary Philharmonic Board and the World Tourism and Education Council (University of Calgary).

•  Executive in Residence at the Banff Centre for Leadership.

Education

• Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Economics at the University of Saskatchewan.

• Post-graduate work in finance and economics at the University of Regina, the Queen’s University executive seminar and the Government of Saskatchewan Executive Development Program.

• C.D.M.E. designation in a joint Purdue University/University of Calgary certificate program in destination marketing.

• The Canadian Securities Course, and numerous technical investment programs and seminars.
